Where courses are offered in accent variations (Australian English, British English, and American English), the following applies:
Australian English content: all Australian English course content is delivered directly by Julia Taylor, Certified Practising Speech Pathologist, in person.
British and American English content: for these accent variations, course content may be delivered using AI avatar technology. By selecting these accent options, you acknowledge and consent to the following:
- The British and American English versions may utilise an AI-generated avatar that replicates Julia Taylor’s appearance and voice
- This AI avatar has been specifically trained under Julia Taylor’s direct supervision to deliver accurate speech pathology instruction in the selected accent
- The AI avatar is programmed with Julia Taylor’s professional expertise and methodology to ensure educational quality and accuracy
- All content, curriculum, and instructional design remains the intellectual property and professional responsibility of Julia Taylor
- The use of AI avatar technology does not diminish the professional standards or educational value of the course content
Quality assurance: Julia Taylor maintains full professional oversight of all AI avatar content to ensure it meets the same educational and professional standards as the personally delivered Australian English content.
Your consent: by purchasing and accessing British or American English accent courses, you explicitly consent to receiving instruction via AI avatar technology and acknowledge that this delivery method has been disclosed to you prior to purchase. If you prefer to receive instruction only from Julia Taylor personally, please select the Australian English course option.
3.5 All Sales Are Final — No Refunds
All sales of Course Products are final. We do not offer refunds, returns, exchanges, or credits for change of mind, failure to use the materials, lack of time, or dissatisfaction with your results, and no money-back guarantee applies to any Course Product.
Course Products are digital materials that are delivered — and may be downloaded in full — immediately upon purchase. By completing your purchase you acknowledge and agree that:
- All sales are final and no refund, return, exchange, or credit will be provided for change of mind or similar reasons
- Delivery of the Course Products begins immediately upon purchase
- You have had the opportunity to review all course descriptions, previews, and sample materials, and to ask questions, before purchasing
- Payment processing fees are non-refundable in all circumstances
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. If a Course Product is faulty, not as described, or otherwise fails to meet a consumer guarantee under that law, you remain entitled to the remedies that law requires. Questions? Contact [email protected] before you buy.
3.6 United States — Products Not Offered for Sale
Clearer Speech operates from Australia and welcomes learners worldwide. Our insurance coverage extends to purchasers worldwide, with the sole exception of the United States of America.
Accordingly, our Course Products are not offered for sale in the United States of America, and we restrict purchases from the United States on a best-effort basis using geographic (IP-based) blocking. Any offer to sell on this website is not directed at, and is expressly withdrawn in respect of, persons located in the United States.
If, despite these restrictions, you purchase or access a Course Product from the United States of America (including by circumventing our geographic restrictions, for example through a VPN, proxy, or by providing inaccurate location information), you do so contrary to this Agreement and you acknowledge and agree that:
- You do so entirely at your own initiative and your own risk
- We make no representation that the Course Products comply with the laws, regulations, professional standards, or consumer protections of the United States or any of its states or territories
- No professional or clinical service is provided to you in your jurisdiction; the Course Products are general educational material only
- Our professional indemnity and business insurance does not extend to purchasers or use of the Course Products in the United States, and you waive, to the maximum extent permitted by law, any claim that would rely on such coverage
- You are solely responsible for compliance with your local laws, including any import, tax, or professional-practice requirements
- This Agreement remains governed exclusively by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, regardless of where you access the Course Products from
3.7 Educational Purpose — Not Therapy or Clinical Treatment
Clearer Speech provides online, non-clinical accent education and general health and communication coaching. While Julia Taylor is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist, our products and services — including any individual feedback — are provided in her capacity as an educator and coach, not as a treating speech pathologist. They consist of general educational and coaching guidance on pronunciation, speech sounds, intelligibility, and accent modification. They are not speech therapy, clinical treatment, or a health service, and do not include the diagnosis, assessment, or treatment of any communication disorder. General accent and pronunciation education and coaching of this kind does not require a clinical qualification to provide, and no clinical service is offered or supplied.
Purchasing does not create a therapist–client or clinician–patient relationship. If you have a diagnosed speech, language, or swallowing condition, please consult a speech pathologist in person.
Our Course Products are designed for educational purposes and professional development only. You acknowledge and agree that:
- Course content is general educational material and not specific professional, medical, or clinical advice
- Users must obtain appropriate professional supervision and licensing in their jurisdiction
- Users are solely responsible for determining the appropriateness of any techniques for their specific clients
- Course Products do not establish a professional or therapeutic relationship between Julia Taylor and course users
- Professional users must maintain their own comprehensive professional liability insurance
- Any application of course content is entirely at the user’s own risk and professional judgement
- Users are responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards in their jurisdiction
- Course content supplements but does not replace formal professional training or supervision
3.8 Limitation of Liability
Our total liability to you for any loss or damage arising from this Agreement is limited to the amount paid for the specific Course Product(s) purchased. We do not limit liability for matters where such limitation would be illegal, including under the Australian Consumer Law.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL JULIA TAY OR CLEARER SPEECH BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE COURSE PRODUCTS, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY AND EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
To the extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for technical issues beyond our reasonable control and third-party platform or service interruptions.
3.9 User-Generated Content and Feedback
If you send us comments, suggestions, feedback, ideas, or other submissions about our Course Products or services, such submissions become and remain our sole property. We shall have no obligation of confidence with respect to such submissions and shall be entitled to unrestricted use, publication, and dissemination of such submissions for any purpose, commercial or otherwise, without acknowledgment or compensation to you.
3.10 Promotional Materials
By purchasing and using our Course Products, you grant us permission to use any photos, videos, testimonials, social media posts, or other content you provide or create in connection with our courses in our promotional materials, including advertisements, social media posts, website content, and marketing materials.
Business logo and social proof usage: by purchasing our Course Products, you also grant us permission to display your business name, logo, and/or professional credentials as social proof in our marketing materials, including “trusted by” sections, client logo displays, professional testimonials and case studies, and social media posts.
Opt-out: if you do not wish your business information, logo, or credentials to be used for promotional purposes, contact us at [email protected] within 30 days of purchase. Failure to opt out within this timeframe will be considered consent to such usage. Any use of your business information will be presented in a professional context.
3.11 Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Julia Taylor, Clearer Speech, and our contractors and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees and court costs) arising out of or relating to:
- Your breach of this Agreement

- Your use of the Course Products or Platform in any jurisdiction, including the United States
- Any content you submit, post, or transmit through our services
- Your conduct in connection with the Course Products or other users
- Any professional or business decisions you make based on Course Product content
- Any claims by your clients, patients, or third parties related to your use of Course Products
We reserve the right to assume the exclusive defence of any claim for which we are entitled to indemnification; in such cases you shall provide reasonable cooperation as requested. This indemnification survives termination of this Agreement.
3.12 Electronic Signature and Acceptance
By using our website, accessing our Course Products, or completing a purchase, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. Ticking the acceptance boxes during the purchase process constitutes your electronic signature and binding agreement to these terms. Continued use of our services constitutes ongoing acceptance of these terms.
3.13 Class Action Waiver
You waive any right to participate in class action lawsuits or class-wide arbitration against Julia Taylor or Clearer Speech. Any disputes must be resolved on an individual basis only.
3.14 Termination
We may terminate your access to Course Products if you breach this Agreement, with notice where reasonably possible. Upon termination, your right to access Course Products ceases immediately.
3.15 Dispute Resolution
Any dispute arising from this Agreement shall be resolved through binding arbitration under the Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (ACICA) Rules, conducted in Sydney, Australia, in English. The arbitrator’s decision shall be final and binding.
3.16 Time Limitation on Claims
Any claim or cause of action arising out of or related to use of the Course Products or this Agreement must be filed within one (1) year after such claim or cause of action arose, regardless of any statute or law to the contrary, except where such limitation is not permitted by law. Failure to file within this time period constitutes a waiver of such claim.
3.17 Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance under this Agreement due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, labour disputes, government actions, internet outages, or technical failures of third-party platforms or services.
3.18 Notices
All legal notices and communications under this Agreement must be sent in writing to [email protected]. We may provide notices to you via email to the address associated with your purchase or through prominent posting on our platform.
4. General Terms
- Entire agreement: this document, together with the Privacy Policy, constitutes the complete agreement between us regarding Course Products, mailing list subscriptions, and privacy practices.
- Modifications: we may update these terms with notice posted on our platform or via email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
- Assignment: you may not transfer, assign, or otherwise dispose of your interest in this Agreement without our prior written consent.
- Severability: if any provision of this Agreement is deemed illegal, invalid, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be struck out and the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect to the maximum extent permitted by law.
- No waiver: any failure by us to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision or of our right to enforce it in the future.
- Governing law and jurisdiction: this Agreement is governed exclusively by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes, claims, or legal proceedings arising from or relating to this Agreement, your use of our Course Products, or our services must be brought exclusively in the courts of New South Wales, Australia. You irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of these courts and waive any objection to proceedings in such courts on the grounds of venue or inconvenient forum.
